This catalog is difficult to get into if you are a self-published author, and it is impossible to get into if you only have a digital version of your book. These industry catalogs only carry hardcover books most of the time. However, you can market to libraries and schools directly by sending out mailers yourself.

The fact is, children do not buy their books – parents do. That means that you can target websites where parents might visit in order to pitch them your book. An example of this might be a banner ad on a commonly used parenting site. You might also use Google AdWords to target specific keywords that parents might look for in Google. There are lots of ways on the web that you can market your book for not very much money. BookBub is one of the most useful self-publishing tools out there, and they do accept children’s books of various categories. The thing to remember about this service is that you need to have some good reviews, a good cover and equality book. They do not accept most of the books that apply for advertising space, so you want to make sure that yours is one of the best. However, if you can get a deal with them, you are definitely going to see a huge boost in sales or downloads.
